My First Visit to the New Delta One Lounge at LAX
Travel has always been more than just getting from one place to another for me, it’s about the journey itself. And when an airline finds a way to make that journey extra special, I notice. After visiting the Delta One Lounge at JFK last year, I couldn’t wait for the opening of the new Delta One Lounge at LAX, my home airport. Let’s just say, it was worth the wait.
A Calm Beginning
The experience started right at the curb of Terminal 3, where Delta One passengers are whisked away from the usual airport chaos. Instead of long lines and loud crowds, I stepped into a calm lobby where a friendly staff member greeted me with a hot drink and even took care of my check-in while I relaxed. It was such a refreshing way to start the trip—and honestly, I could have stopped there and already felt spoiled.
A Touch of Los Angeles
The lounge itself is gorgeous. Inspired by Los Angeles, the space has this effortless blend of sunset colors, coastal calm, and Old Hollywood glamour. Warm walnut wood, soft leather, golden tones—it all comes together in a way that feels chic yet comfortable. It’s the kind of place where you instantly want to sink into a chair and just enjoy being there.
Spaces to Explore
What surprised me was how much personality the lounge has. There are seven distinct areas, each designed for a different mood.
The Library Lounge was my first stop cozy chairs, small tables, and the perfect spot to sip a drink while flipping through a book or just people-watching.
Then came the Wellness Area—and this was a real treat. Behind a curtain, separated from the bustle, soft spa music plays while you settle into either a massage chair or a zero-gravity lounger. Since I had time to spare, I tried both. After battling L.A. traffic just to get to the airport, it felt like an unexpected little slice of heaven.
Dining with Style
Of course, no Delta One experience is complete without dining. While the LAX lounge is smaller than the one at JFK, the à la carte dining here still made me feel like I was in a boutique restaurant. The food was beautifully presented, the service was warm, and the chic dining room with its glam touches made me want to linger just a little longer.
The Best Kind of Delay
What really stood out, though, was the sense of care in every detail—from the design to the service, everything felt intentional and thoughtful. And here’s something I never thought I’d say: when I learned my flight was delayed by 40 minutes, I was actually happy. More time to enjoy the lounge! Instead of stressing, I sank back into my chair, ordered another coffee, and thought, this is how travel should feel.
